Columbia is such a great place to live or visit! In fact it was recently named one of the country’s best small towns by Country Living Magazine! And while there is so much to see and do now, there is also so much incredible history.
Hi, I’m Jaryn! I’m a local historian and enthusiast for all things Columbia! When I moved here in 2008, it took me a while to get the lay of the land and an understanding of the history of my new home. Columbia has grown so much since then! Hoof it with me in downtown Columbia to explore the most interesting stories from the past and get the inside scoop on the best of the present!
Are you curious to know what this whole “Muletown” thing is about? Does “President James K. Polk” sound vaguely like a phrase you heard once in school? Did you know that an event right here in downtown Columbia was a catalyst for pivotal Civil Rights Executive Actions in the 1940s? “Hoof It” with us in historic Downtown Columbia, Tennessee for these stories and more, as well as an insider’s guide to the best food, shopping, and entertainment in Columbia!
The Muletown Insider tours last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We’ll meet in the parking lot of the Maury County Visitor’s Bureau on the Corner of High St. and W. 7th and cover a little less than a mile of ground.
